Marketing

We engage with the nation every single day, through one of our stores, on social media platforms, via the more traditional methods of newspapers and TV and through our vast array of owned media. The Marketing Communications team is a group of creative and planning experts, dedicated to understanding what customers want to see and hear – and when and how – to encourage them to shop at Tesco as often as possible.

Our vision is to champion Customer opportunities for growth for Tesco. We are here to help Tesco become every Customer's favourite, regardless of the way they want to shop, whether they are in store or online. We know that a core part of getting this right is by understanding our business and customers to develop the services, products and opinions that will help us improve everything we do and we are supported to do this with some of the most sophisticated tools & technologies in the business.

The Brand team own and curate the Tesco brand. The most important thing we do is spend as much time as possible understanding our customers’ needs. This allows us to craft products and service propositions that better meet those needs in ways that delight our customers and build our brand.

This department is made up of five teams who each play a critical role in how we communicate our brand to our Customers. The teams are involved in everything from designing and developing our core communications assets, developing content, designing new store formats, propositions and packaging and maintaining design and brand guidelines.

Our team vision is to be the customer experience innovators setting the trends for retail brands in the 21st century. We lead and design the large scale projects which will have impact across the business and help us to serve Britain’s shoppers a little better every day. Our teams are passionate about understanding the needs and motivations of our customers, and what we can do better for them.

We are responsible for core proposition & operations of the Clubcard loyalty programme - one of the biggest loyalty schemes in the market with over 17m members. We also look at loyalty propositions across the business alongside our CRM strategy. We need people who share our ambition to make the difference to our customers. In return we offer excitement, a chance to define the strategy for one Britain’s biggest & best loyalty programmes & great career development opportunities.

Our teams work tirelessly to make sure that our customers are seeing the most personalised and relevant propositions for them in the communications we share with them. All of the data we have gives us an amazing opportunity to really talk to our Customer directly in a way which matters to them. Along with email, we also do this by using the appropriate paid search, SEO, affiliates and display channels too.
