The nature of Tesco means that our work is high-profile, interesting, challenging and diverse. Because of this, we operate as a world-class Legal team, integral to the success of the business. We're really clear about our purpose and the direction we're heading in. Our vision is to be one global team, enabling business growth and enhancing the Tesco brand. Serving customers is at the heart of everything we do.

We're focused on developing excellent people who work collaboratively to add real value. We enable business growth by providing practical, commercial advice. Delivering operational excellence, driving efficiency locally and globally. Managing risk and reputation, making sure that we use our scale for good. We look to the future by identifying opportunities and providing proactive solutions to long-term challenges.

We employ many different specialists, both lawyers and non-lawyers and have a wide range of teams focusing on a variety of areas. You’ll be providing commercial legal advice to Tesco’s diverse businesses. This includes our Food, Procurement, F&F, General Merchandise and Digital teams.

You’ll be dealing with all the legal issues that a global retailer could face from day-to-day. As well as drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, you’ll advise strategically on legal matters including contract interpretation, e-commerce, intellectual property, data protection, and dispute resolution and competition law.

Our Legal team’s aim is: “To protect our colleagues and our business, grow sales and enhance the Tesco brand.” This aligns with Tesco’s core purpose and the business’ wider strategy and vision.

We regularly volunteer and fundraise for charities and projects within our local communities, including a dedicated 'community week' for colleagues and pro bono work for Islington Law Centre.

Our colleagues get involved in a whole range of different sports, social and networking activities, including 5-a-side football, cricket matches against our supplier law firms, running club, quizzes, walks, pub lunches, drinks and our Women in Legal network.
