You will be responsible for

As a Systems Engineer III at Tesco, you'll be essential in shaping the infrastructure that underpins seamless experiences for colleagues and customers. You'll navigate through complexities and drive initiatives that redefine norms, while ensuring technological advancements serve our global operations.

 

• Design and deliver robust network solutions within our existing infrastructure and lead the integration of new network technologies by establishing best practice principles

• Contribute significantly to the technology roadmap for Tesco Network Services, guiding the strategic direction of our network capabilities

• Evaluate innovative tools and techniques to assess their potential value and impact on our systems and processes

• Lead group design discussions in your expertise, presenting with confidence to a range of audiences

• Assist other technical teams, fostering a collaborative environment to streamline the consumption of infrastructure

• Keep abreast of technological advancements, bringing insights to the team that could benefit Tesco

• Drive automation across all aspects of routine tasks, improving efficiency and accuracy

You will need

To fit into the Systems Engineer III role, you'll be a forward-thinker, committed to creating solutions that make a difference. A blend of technical knowledge and the passion for innovation will make you a strong candidate.

 

• Expertise in designing and deploying network solutions in large, complex organisations

• Analytical skills coupled with a structured approach to design and advanced troubleshooting

• Experience in high-level and low-level documentation, following architecture guidelines

• A proactive and organised approach, capable of working independently and taking ownership of projects

• Strong communication skills and the ability to form positive relationships across teams

• Continuous commitment to tap into the latest industry technologies and solutions

 

Keywords: Cloud VPN, client VPN, on-premise, Zscaler, Palo Alto, HTTP/HTTPS protocols, ISO-27001 compliance, SAML OneLogin, Splunk, Wireshark, scripting (Python, PowerShell), automation tools (GIT, Chef, Ansible), RADIUS/TACACS technologies, network management tools.
