Job Description

As a Lead Technical Programme Manager for Price Lifecycle service, you will deliver complex, cross-functional technology programmes for "Price Transformation" Initiatives which including building the next generation pricing tech to support Price optimization. These programs are designed around supporting our colleagues who are responsible for governing the prices and help serve our customers better. Work collaboratively, influence Product, Engineering and business colleagues across Price Lifecycle, Promotion Lifecycle, Label rendering engine and some of the legacy products such as IRE, RPM , Adapters and lead the programme to deliver value quickly and often.

The programs will all be be cross cutting across the Pricing and Product Induction domain including the myProduct Suite (Apps), Optimizers (built by various DS teams), different price APIs (PriceLifecycle, PromoLifecycle, LRE, Quote, SVS etc)

In this role, you are responsible for -

  • Deliver complex programmes associated to Price domain (across different sub domains within Price including Promotions, Clearances) with multiple business and technical risks that will impact the success of key Tesco business priorities
  • Create and track a plan to deliver the overall programme goals, including the technical implementation plan, ensuring colleagues and stakeholders from across Tesco are kept up-to-date. Where Delegation is necessary, make the TPMs accountable for the plans and help them navigate through challenging phases by helping them build consensus
  • Understand trade-offs in software delivery using experience and influencing skills to drive consensus with the Engineering and Product teams to obtain the best value and solution
  • You should be able to foresee potential risks and issues, establish a process, facilitate discussion and manage escalations
  • To be successful in the role as an LTPM understanding the technical architecture of the pricing domain to be able to foresee the impact on dependencies, delivery timelines and implementation plans is important. Eg a cross cutting initiative could be dependent on myProductPrice as an upstream, Quote API and SVS as a downstream for the Price/Promo Lifecycle APIs with cross functional dependency on Location API. Understanding the high level architecture is key for success when driving the program
  • Develop good knowledge of engineering best practices and practical infrastructure implementations to appreciate delivery challenges in Price Lifecycle and Promotion Lifecycle domain
  • Collaborate with the TPM, Product and Engineering Managers to define annual budgetary requirements for all squads under team 201
  • Build positive relationships with stakeholders such as Central Pricing Team to deliver software or professional services, holding them to account on delivery and improvement plans
  • Vendor management is also a key priority in this role involving managing purchase orders for AMC contracts, be the single point of contact for vendors managing the Applications and holding them accountable for the software delivery
  • Mentor, Coach and groom TPMs under this area to be successful.
  • Contribute actively to TPM community

  • Price Lifecycle API squads – Based out of India (through an embedded TPM for the Price squads)
  • Third party vendor teams (Weigandt) who manages RPM and IRE – Based out of UK and Europe
  • Label Rendering Engine – Based out of India

Qualifications

  • Experience in driving large programs across domains
  • Exposure to pricing domain and understanding of retail platform is an added advantage
