We are on the lookout for a Senior Assistant Designer to become a key part of the Design team on the babywear area. You will support the Manager to ensure that technical briefs and any design inspiration have been completed according to the departments critical path.

You will be responsible for

  • Start to range build on your own and reviewing direction with line manager. change to 'work closely with the design team to build trend, and constantly bring newness to the department.
  • Work with the design team to design new and innovative product, and complete detailed tech packs.
  • Be prepared to present confidently to stakeholders.
  • Use knowledge of customers, trends and competitors to make recommendations on the development of products and packaging.
  • Demonstrate ability to develop and deliver consistently successful ranges for an agreed category with the support of my Designer.
  • Contribute to the department Strategy.
  • Prepare key items, shapes, fabric for design team development trips.
  • Present confidently missed opportunities: pre fall, catwalks, resort reports.
  • Am confident with critical path management and raise concerns or issues within the department.
  • Be aware of costs when developing a product.
  • Propose ways to improve products.
  • Confidently hold supplier meetings.

You will need

  • Extensive experience within Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • To present and sign off range selections in partnership with the Buying, Merchandising and Technical teams.
  • To know the manufacturing and production process by visiting a UK or CE factory.
  • Experience in Microsoft programs i.e. you will use Powerpoint for presentation purposes.
  • Deputise for the Designer when required.
  • Take on projects and working across wider teams.
