Our £6bn online grocery business is the largest player in the industry, and we’re looking for dedicated individuals to join our “Business Performance” team. This team is a key player in our organization, and you’ll have the chance to work with analyse vast amounts of data and provide insights that will craft the future of the business. The role would require delivering (and support the team to deliver) actionable analytics and reporting to help partners to understand performance of the Online business and inform our Online strategy. To be considered for the role, you must have previous experience and demonstrated ability in an analytical role and meet the requirements outlined below.

You will be responsible for

Analytics & Business Performance:

  • Gathering and shaping data briefs and projects, developing the analytical approach, delivering accurate insight in a timely manner, collaborating closely with partners to ensure the best recommendations are identified and delivered.
  • Reporting data accurately and turning it into useful information which has context and supporting narrative.
  • Articulating the opportunity, insight, or project clearly, flexing your style to engage with empathy and conviction.
  • Maintaining & developing our suite of insight reports to give our operators and leadership visibility of how the business is performing and what we need to do to improve.

Agile & Data Practices:

  • Work in an agile framework, we practice a combination of Scrum and Kanban
  • Promote a data driven, self-serve culture and ensure dashboards, tools, resources, and insight produced by the team are widely shared, understood and acted upon.

People & Delivery Management:

  • Liaising with other functional partners including commercial, finance, products, fulfilment, digital and tech to gather and shape data briefs.
  • Proactively communicate progress and concerns to key partners to ensure the delivery of the project to the agreed timelines.
  • Be a role model of what a great analyst looks like, supporting your peers in their development.

You will need

To be the very best candidate you will need to be a keen problem-solver who can demonstrate:

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills
  • Ability to simplify sophisticated problems, manipulate data accurately and relate to the business context.
  • Experience using Excel, PowerPoint and a BI software (preferably Tableau, Adobe Analytics) to manipulate and share data in a clear and visually appealing way to support partners to make business decisions.
  • Experience using a query language (preferably SQL) to access and manipulate data from a data base. Programming languages (python/R) a bonus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage and collaborate with other teams.
  • Broad understanding of ecommerce/ retail/ grocery business
