You will be responsible for

In this pivotal role, you will craft and guide the content strategy to complement and elevate our product vision and goals. It’s all about connecting our products with our customers in the most engaging and clear way possible. By working closely with our design and product teams, you make certain that every word we share is on-brand, purposeful, and impactful. From improving customer experiences to establishing seamless communication flows, you ensure our narrative is not just heard but felt and understood.

 

• Develop a content strategy that aligns with and supports our product vision, short-term targets, and long-term ambitions

• Work in tandem with UX/UI designers, researchers, product owners, and developers to create and enhance customer experiences through content

• Set communication standards across the board, ensuring all product managers can craft their messages with consistent branding and style

• Implement documentation standards for product managers to create clear and user-friendly process documentation

• Support researchers in defining user tests and analysing feedback to inform content-related decisions, enhancing the overall user experience

• Engage with senior stakeholders to guarantee that communication strategies are in sync with Tesco's strategic direction

• Advocate for the integral role of UX writing and cohesive content practices with teams across the company, including brand and marketing

You will need

Familiarity with technical comms tools (Confluence, GitHub)

Exceptional communication skills

Ability to coach others to improve their communication skills

Proven track record as a content manager / UX author ideally in a technical discipline

Strong experience in UX writing across digital platforms, products and services and a portfolio bursting with engaging projects you’re passionate about

An understanding of UX writing best practice and the value it brings to a business

Proven track record as a content manager / UX author ideally in a technical discipline  

A sharp eye for detail and the ability to ensure consistency of language across every component, from onboarding screens to error messages

A real dedication to understanding user needs to help define the what, why and how of the problems you're solving

A gift for tone of voice and how to adapt it for different customer journeys

An understanding of the essential need for accessibility and inclusivity, specifically the use of clear language and the importance of voiceover/screen reader functionality.
