We are delighted to share that we are recruiting for a Head of Central Merchandising and Trade Planning to join our dynamic Home & Clothing team (F&F) here at Tesco.

This candidate will play a crucial role within our Home & Clothing Central team, ensuring the achievement of important metrics such as Sales, Margin, and Stock. Collaboration with Buying, Merchandising, and Finance teams is essential in this position.

This candidate will need to collaborate closely with senior partners within Home and Clothing. The position will be based at our Welwyn Garden City Pear office.

You will be responsible for

  • Budget setting by category for important financial metrics (Sales, Intake Margin, MD, Stock and Options).
  • Monitoring and managing monthly forecasts to achieve budgeted Financial metrics.
  • Coordinating with Buying, Merchandising, Trade Planning and Operations to improve the performance of the financial critical metrics.
  • Collaborating with the Finance team to achieve essential financial metrics.
  • Collaborate and align with collaborators at all levels to achieve important financial metrics.
  • Improve Central Merchandise processes to achieve key performance targets.
  • Identifying short term and long-term priorities to be delivered cross functionally.
  • Following our Business Code of Conduct and always acting with integrity and due diligence.

You will need

For this role, we would need someone with a strong Knowledge and experience of merchandising roles in Home and/or Clothing, ideally with some experience of Central Merchandising.

  • Strong merchandise planning skills, with solid experience of delivering merchandising control, ideally with experience in Central Merchandising.
  • Ideally have experience working cross functionally, and working closely with Finance, Operations and Merchandising.
  • They will have experience of influencing senior collaborators, with strong communication skills.
  • They will look for opportunities to take accountability, make decisions and drive progress
  • Their energy and positive outlook will ensure that teams around them deliver collaboratively to deliver growth plans.
  • They will live the Tesco purpose and leadership behaviours, acting as a role model for their teams.
