Leads a team of subject matter experts through the end to end project lifecycle to ensure successful delivery of the project. Proactively leads and collaborates with stakeholders within the business to ensure shared ownership for the delivery of business outcomes and realisation of benefits. Drive complex cross-functional change into the organisation through the application of ‘best in class’ project management in a sustainable way. Manage effective governance framework to ensure the appropriate level of oversight and control is in place across the delivery of the release.

You will be responsible for

  • End to end delivery of a defined project - primarily focused on digitilisation of payroll processes and transformation of payroll technologies
  • Creating and maintaining project planning artefacts e.g. project plan, RAID logs
  • Provide project/release status summary and reporting into relevant governance forums
  • Responsible for delivery of all business discovery to determine feasibility of a change initiative
  • Responsible for creation of business case & tracking delivery of benefits
  • Deliver to agreed timeline and on budget, challenge and course correct the plan as required
  • Act as first point of escalation for the project team
  • Manage all risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies within the project/release, escalating where appropriate
  • Ensure project plans are aligned and dependencies managed to the broader programme plan
  • Adhere to planning and reporting standards
  • Manage the resource planning and any capacity constraints to support the delivery of the plan and take corrective action where necessary
  • Ensure milestones and key deliverables are realistic in line with key activities
  • Oversee and take corrective action where milestones are at risk
  • Identify and monitor key dependencies with other waves and other programmes Identify and manage the project critical path
  • Identify At-Risk activities/deliverables and take corrective action
  • Lead the process for assessing change requests
  • Leads Lessons Learnt sessions & Post implementation reviews in conjunction with team members and other key stakeholders
  • Manages engagement with Group People service management & service delivery teams  to enable successful transition into service

Experience:

  • Success in delivering complex programmes and projects within or outside of Tesco
  • Practitioner in Programme and Project management methodologies

  • Great at building and leveraging relationships
  • Experience of working Technology with Cloud based technologies and/or Agile delivery
