About the role

The Programme Management Office (PMO) define, implement and enable the programme management environment. The Governance and Reporting Manager role will be crucial to the success of the PMO function and is integral to the programme overall by supplying the expertise on governance. This role will be the central hub of the Finance Change function and will report into different levels of the business across a variety of governance forums. You will be accountable for providing both internal and external reporting to a good standard and in a timely manner and to ensure we meet audit standards and our customers feel informed.

You will be responsible for

1. Acts as focal point for all programme governance related information:

  • Custodian of programme and project methodologies
  • Maintenance of programme governance structures including terms of reference for key meetings
  • Maintaining the process for governance forums, ensuring the timelines and principles are followed
  • Adhere to PMO /Portfolio practices and standards
  • Facilitate specific Governance forums as agreed

2. Develop and maintain the mechanism to ensure all reporting can be communicated to various audience levels

  • Collate high quality content for input into governance meetings across the calendar and ensure information is consistent across all the various forums
  • Ensuring adhering to submission times, being an advocate of branding guidelines and committed to follow SLA’s outlined in the Terms of Reference
  • Provide expert support on the analysis and manipulation of data necessary to deliver high-quality management information into dashboards and trackers
  • Providing insight and necessary Risks, Issues, Assumptions, Dependencies, Decisions and Actions (RAIDDA) into the appropriate forums

3. Owner of the Governance Blueprint

  • Creator and custodian of necessary artefacts
  • Provide necessary documentation from governance forums, and update and maintain actions logs and are stored in the relevant location
  • Be proficient in the purpose and use of the suite of tools used and supported by the PPMO
  • Completing, maintaining and reviewing the processes maps; seeking out opportunities to improve and streamline where possible
  • Develop and track important metrics for measuring success of the Governance Processes

You will need

  • Solid understanding of PMO process, standards and governance; experience of operational management within a PMO function
  • Ability to present to colleagues at all levels using a variety of communication methods
  • Understanding and awareness of the programme scope
  • Ability to work at pace whilst retaining attention to detail
  • Experience of planning and co-ordinating major transformational programmes
  • Practiced at leading change using delivery methodologies
  • Experience of working for/in a retail organisation
