About the role

We have an amazing opportunity for an Associate Product Manager to join the People Data & Insights product team, part of our Technology Enabling Function, to work on people data reporting platform and insights, where our mission is to deliver insights which empowers colleagues to make data-enabled and insight-informed decisions about our colleagues easily and conveniently.

 

Reporting to the Lead Product Manager, you will work alongside other Product Managers, Designers, Engineers, Data Analysts and Technical Programme Managers you will do data and business analysis to support the design and build of our People reporting and insights products. You will assist Product Managers in writing user stories, creating backlogs and setting priorities. You will be an ambassador for the customer and demonstrate that you are able to collaborate and work effectively within cross-functional teams.

 

We are looking for an ambitious individual who can demonstrate a passion for solving problems, working collaboratively, and embracing technology, interested in data and AI . This role is about learning the fundamentals and is the foundation for career as (data) product manager.

You will be responsible for

  • Evolve the product roadmap involving writing user stories, managing the backlog and priorities.
  • Understand and partner with multiple internal/ external stakeholders in line with the wider business and Product strategy.
  • Understand key user personas, customers and stakeholders for the product and their pain points.
  • Work alongside research, design, analytics, and engineering teams to design and develop solutions to solve real business needs.
  • Work as part of a wider product team, with a culture for shared goals, helping where appropriate as the need arises.
  • Understand and demonstrate all of the features of my product to different audiences within and outside of my immediate product team.
  • Effectively document and explain new requirements to the engineering team using user stories, personas, and acceptance tests and help the team in breaking down a complex piece of work/ epic into smaller, deliverable chunks of value that can be delivered faster.
  • Be accountable for the performance/ adoption of your product and work towards increasing it.
  • Steer sprint planning sessions by working with the engineering counterparts to plan sprints that delivery maximum business value in least effort
  • Prioritise, coordinate and communicate the resolution of live product issues

You will need

  • Analytical and critical thinking with can-do mentality and agile mindset
  • Understand the value of data and insights in supporting business decisions
  • The ability to understand business and data analysis to enrich the relevance of the product
  • Understand value that the UX and UI disciplines bring to the product
  • The ability to build strong working relationships with peers, stakeholders, and teams across the business.  Able to leverage these relationships to build consensus, drive change, and deliver value.
  • Experience of creating insights from customer research to influence the product roadmap, and have knowledge of how to use the tools related to managing the roadmap.
  • Understand importance of product vision, strategy and how they are used to align teams to collaborate and prioritise work around shared outcome
