About the role

An excellent opportunity has arisen within the UK Marketing team for a Content & Digital Manager to work across our Tesco Real Food website.    

With an increased need to react to fast-paced changes in technology, personalisation and AI becoming mainstream across recipes within the food retail space our aim to be the first choice for customers for in delivering a helpful food recipe content website.

As part of the role, you’ll implement the plan to transform the current Tesco Real Food website, joining us in year one of the plan, ensuring key deliverables and achievements are met as we transform the website, whilst also planning the digital enhancements for year 2 and beyond. You’ll work closely with our agencies and internal collaborators including our Tech, Procurement and Marketing Team.

This role is crucial in allowing our customers to plan, shop and cook their meals offering them personalised helps we know they want, making our website the first-choice recipe site, meaning customers will not need to go anywhere else helping us to be the most helpful and positively talked about supermarket brand on social media to drive loyalty and affinity.

You will be responsible for

  • Leading the end-to-end development and launch of our new Tesco Real Food website. As the main point of contact you’ll work with and across multiple areas of the business including the business project manager, external agencies, Marketing, Online and Technology teams to help deliver the website platform migration plans on time and on budget.
  • You’ll lead and oversee key workstreams including migrating the key tools and functionality of the website ensuring improvements are made, commercialisation of the site, the SEO execution of the plan and analytics implementation.
  • You’ll work with the food content marketing team to devise a short-term marketing plan to help with the launch of the site to make customers aware of the changes, you’ll also be accountable for the long term marketing strategies to ensure customers are aware of and visiting the site as a first port of contact for helpful recipe content.  
  • You’ll oversee budgets and timings, holding key team members to account to make sure landmarks are being met, flagging with relevant collaborators if they’re not to plan accordingly.
  • In parallel to driving year 1 of the plan, you’ll be planning for the future site optimisations, ensuring scoping and designs are being made for the site including new interactive technologies and artificial intelligence integration to aid with user journey and shoppability.
  • You’ll be identifying key marketing communication touchpoints where we can surface recipes relevant to customer needs and creating plans to complete this with internal team members.
  • Assessing customer behaviour research, insights and trends, and work with creative and media agencies to help interpret customer future needs in consuming content across different social platforms and recipe sites.
  • Providing ongoing analysis, key insights and recommendations to optimise the performance of the site once live and streamline ways of working.
  • Continuously updating the team on planned activities, results, competitor activity and test and learn opportunities.

You will need

  • Experience in digital marketing including objective setting, digital marketing strategy, execution of web content and performance measurement.
  • Experience managing a website product. 
  • Knowledge of SEO and SEO optimisation strategies
  • Paid search knowledge (desired but not essential)
  • Experience in digital advertising
  • Experience in website analytics and the ability to draw conclusions and make recommendations from data.
  • An understanding of customer behaviours in the retail industry and how they’ve changed over time
  • A keen awareness of developments and trends within content channels, apps and websites
  • An understanding of and experience within content across a range of channels.
  • Experience in project and budget management to deliver large scale projects on time
  • A relevant degree or social media/content experience
