About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Manager to join the UK Capital team.

Partnering the Capital Finance Director and wider Finance and Business Leadership teams, you will have a pivotal role in ensuring the successful deployment of our £1.1bn capital investment in the UK. Through finance insight, you will influence strategy, ensuing capital efficiency of our portfolio of investments.

You will be responsible for

  • Leading the UK Strategic Plan, Budget and Forecast process for capital, depreciation and cash
  • Delivering high quality capital planning & review packs, ensuring the Exec and UK Leadership teams are fully engaged in UK capital strategy, planning & performance
  • Managing our portfolio of returning assets, balancing short term payback with longer term strategic growth opportunities
  • Managing our non-returning cost asset base, ensuring the right level of investment across our stores, distribution centres and fleet
  • Ensuing that capital allocation is data driven and that planned capital investments will achieve the Global hurdle rates and KPI's
  • Driving insight to influence strategy, finding opportunities and developing actionable recommendations to ensure that these are capitalised on
  • Maintaining a positive relationship with UKCF, Group and Investor Relations, supporting with external reporting requirements
  • Actively looking to drive continuous improvement within both UK and TBS (India), developing reporting / planning tools and improving processes
  • Working with the Governance Finance Manager and wider project team to support with the proof of concept of a potential new Group Capital Management tool
  • Managing a Finance Graduate and leading a team of 3 in India, being an encouraging leader who is comfortable in the development of the team to drive an impactful culture

You will need

  • Accountancy qualification (CIMA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
  • Experience partnering senior colleagues to influence decision making 
  • Broad understanding of business and industry, with FMCG experience
  • Ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner to a wide range of colleagues with varying levels of understanding
  • Highly collaborative, with an ability to develop open working relationships and gain confidence of colleagues at all levels
