As the Analytics Engineering Manager in the cyber data team, you will play a crucial role in the development, management, and optimisation of security data products. You will lead technical decisions and be responsible for a team of analytics engineers to ensure the delivery of high-quality data products needed for security teams operations, analytics, machine learning and Gen AI applications. The analytics engineering team plays a direct role in the success of the cyber data team and is a key driver in promoting a data centric culture within the security function.
Data Acquisition: Gather data from variety of security sources using the scaffoldings provided by data platform engineering team supporting operations, analytics and machine learning and AI use cases.
Data Transformation and Modelling: Transforming raw data into various data models by cleaning, normalising, standardising, filtering, aggregating, and formatting the data adhering to Open Cybersecurity Schema Framework standards.
Data Analysis and Visualisation: Support a variety of data analysis, involving the exploration and analysis of source, trusted, and curated security data to identify patterns, trends, and insights in collaboration with security analysts. Also, build various global reports and dashboards to communicate the insights effectively both to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Data Quality and Documentations: Maintaining the data quality across the security lake (raw, trusted, and curated layers) by implementing various validation and quality measures. Collaborate with source data owners, security analysts, and engineers to manage the data catalog, lineage, data dictionary, and data transformation processes.
In addition to the above core accountabilities, I am also responsible for,
Relevant experience as an Engineering or BI Manager, leading teams and managing data projects at scale
Solid experience with data warehousing principles, data modelling and data architecture
Solid experience with programming languages like Python and proficiency in SQL
Experience working with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, GCP) and big data technologies like Spark
Working knowledge of ETL and ELT frameworks and tools like dbt
Working knowledge of Version Control and CI/CD pipelines
Hiring, developing, and retaining cyber analytics talent
Ability to provide clear input, guide, empower the team to achieve desired outcomes
Developing working relationships with various teams and stakeholders at all levels of seniority to drive data driven decisions and enable end users to make informed decisions through data
Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices
