About the role

We have an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Technical Programme Manager to join Tesco’s Identity and Access Management Team, part of the wider Security team. Our mission is to transform how Tesco provides seamless yet secure colleague access to the tools to do their job across the world.

This role will be responsible for establishing and managing programmes of work covering both Colleague Identity (single sign-on, multi-factor authentication) and Access Management (access requests, joiners/movers/leavers, access reviews), working closely with the IAM Product and Engineering teams.

You will be responsible for

  • Deliver complex programmes with multiple business and technical risks that will impact the success of key Tesco business priorities.
  • Understanding Tesco’s and your team’s short-term and long-term overarching goals and initiatives and manage your projects with that commitment.
  • Create and track a plan to deliver the programme goals, including the technical implementation plan, ensuring colleagues and stakeholders from across Tesco are kept up-to-date .
  • Act as a first point of escalation for the delivery team and key stakeholders, assisting to unblock and resolve priority delivery issues
  • Able to foresee potential risks and issues, establish a process, facilitate discussion and manage escalations
  • Report project outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate management channels on a regular basis and escalate issues, as necessary, according to project work plan.
  • Understand trade-offs in software delivery using experience and influencing skills to drive consensus with the Engineering and Product teams to obtain the best value and solution
  • Able to understand a technical architecture to be able to foresee the impact on dependencies, delivery timelines and implementation plans
  • Have good knowledge of engineering best practices and practical infrastructure implementations to appreciate delivery challenges
  • Building positive relationships with stakeholders to deliver software or professional services, holding them to account on delivery and improvement plans

 

You will need

  • Have 7+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
  • Being comfortable initiating and shaping programmes with ambiguous scope and uncertain delivery approach.
  • Able to take initiative and proceed with minimum supervision.
  • Have Professional certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, PSM1 etc.
  • Have a proven record of accomplishment in delivering technology programmes.
  • Produce and evaluate launch, resource, and compliance metrics. Experience in managing projects with OKRs/KPIs.
  • Have experience of building credible relationships and influencing senior management
  • Strong Project, Stakeholder & Programme management skills
  • Good reporting skills for programs and financial forecasting
