Tesco’s Digital Design System team (DDS) is a centralized team responsible for designing and developing reusable components across Web, iOS, and Android, used across our digital estate, and seen by millions of customers and colleagues. You are a system designer/thinker, who will collaborate with a team of multi-disciplinary designers where you will consult, govern, and deliver component specifications for our web libraries. You have a strong eye for design and attention to detail, while understanding the technical requirements to bridge the gap between design and engineering. You bring a systematic, scalable design approach to your work, considering how best to deliver component libraries, layouts, templates, and icons that scale across numerous platforms and products. Above all, you love what you do.
You must be proactive, creative, flexible, resilient, and able to handle high levels of complexity and ambiguity. You will champion our design system and invent and simplify a set of mechanisms, building blocks and tools that empower designers and engineers building the future experiences for our colleagues and customers. Our design & engineering community are at the heart of the DDS. We earn the trust of others within DDS to foster an environment of inclusion and openness, allowing everyone to do their best and help our customers a little every day.
